As mentioned in the video above:
1) Creating my weekly “Morning Musings’ – a 10-15 minute offering which includes a musing, a new chant inspired by the musing, and some shared silence – continues to bring me great joy. If you haven’t already, I hope that you can join me for one/some/all of these offerings! You can find the current one on my Facebook page every Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM Pacific, or see any of them any time on YouTube here.
I’m also blessed to virtually serve many spiritual communities in both Canada and the U.S. – sometimes, two of them on the same Sunday! (Some centers request that I pre-record music for them.) For up-to-date info on all of my performances, please visit my online calendar.
 2) This month, I’ve been exploring FAITH – an important part of my 2021 theme of SURRENDER.
I recently offered Music and Message at Unity of White Rock (in the Greater Vancouver area). My talk was entitled “Small Steps Big Life: Saying YES to Faith”. In it, I shared 3 points:
a) A definition of Faith, provided by the Oxford Dictionary: “Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.”
b) Two personal stories about living that definition of Faith: the first, meeting Jaco Pastorius, one of my musical heroes, in July of ’81; the second, meeting Kim, the Love of my Life, in February of ’20. In both instances, I was filled with complete trust and confidence – in the first, that I would meet Jaco when he came to Montreal (my home town) as part of the annual Jazz Festival; in the second, that Kim was someone I had to get to know. (My usual negative self-talk – about why I shouldn’t start a conversation with someone that I meet at a performance – was turned down and off, as if it were a radio station that I no longer wanted to hear!)
c) The best tool that we have to live this definition of Faith: AFFIRMATIVE PRAYER – that is, prayer that we infuse with the emotion of a positive outcome. I didn’t know it at the time, but both moments – meeting Jaco and meeting Kim – were answers to affirmative prayer.
My latest Morning Musing was inspired by a powerful quote about the relationship between Faith and Prayer by Ernest Holmes, a leading figure in the New Thought movement: “Seek to make your work a prayer, your believing an act, your living an art. It is then that the object of your faith will be made visible to you. It is then that you shall ‘kiss the lips of your desire.'” WOW! The chant inspired by that quote – “I Kiss The Lips Of My Desire” – begins at 5:47 in this month’s video (above). May it serve you well!
And, as always…
