Here we are – well into the new year, and the new decade (!).
How goes it with YOUR word/theme for 2020?
As I mentioned last month, my word is FREEDOM, inspired by my experience of walking the Camino last September and October.
While I was in Spain – most specifically, in the places shown in the photos I’ve included this month – I set some powerful intentions. At the Cruz de Ferro (Iron Cross), where pilgrims are invited to leave a stone behind that symbolizes something they seek to release from their experience, I asked that I be released from all limiting thinking; and at the fire pit (beyond the lighthouse) and at the beach in Finisterre (Fee-nee-STARE-ay), I spread my arms wide in the powerful wind and prayed repeatedly, “Winds of Finisterre, wash me clean and make me whole”.
As the weeks and months roll by, I’m more and more aware of how those two intentions – those two prayers – have been, and are continuing to be, answered. I feel much calmer inside – much more trusting – and my life continues to simplify.
My sense of freedom is DEEPENING.
I could give you several examples of how this is manifesting in my life – AND, I’ll choose this one: After almost 3 years of sharing a home with a roommate, I’m moving into my own place in mid-February. In preparation for the move, I’ve just completed a house-wide purge – the most thorough releasing of physical possessions I’ve ever done. It feels powerful – I DO feel lighter and freer – AND, I’m realizing that it’s now time for me to do some purging on my emotional, mental and spiritual levels too.
Time to go DEEPER still!
And, with appreciation for all that is, and with eagerness for all that is to come, I say YES!
