THIS MONTH’S TOPIC
My upcoming trek of the Camino de Santiago is now 6 weeks away, and its “call” – to live more simply, here and now – is resonating in me ever more deeply. And I’m truly excited about that!
In the last month, two related tools – one old, and one new – helped to deepen my resonance with simplicity:
1) “The Western Guide To Feng Shui – Room By Room”, by Tereah Kathryn Collins. Feng Shui is about re-examining your relationship with every one of your possessions, deciding what still feels like it belongs in your life, and mindfully putting those possessions in the best possible places in your home. When I keenly devoured this book years ago and applied its wisdom, I immediately and significantly transformed the energy of my home at that time. I’ve just completed the same process with my current home, and I’m already noticing a profound difference: more space in my life on every level – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
2) Shortly after this, I was inspired to google “minimalism”, and I quickly discovered a definition that I really liked, courtesy of this article by Joshua Becker: “…minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value and the removal of everything that distracts us from it. It is a life that forces intentionality. And as a result, it forces improvements in almost all aspects of your life.”
BINGO! That perfectly describes what’s been happening!
(Although for me, I must say that embracing minimalism doesn’t seem to be FORCING improvements – they’re happening naturally.)
I firmly believe that life is an experiment – a classroom with lessons in every moment – and I’m feeling very curious and greatly inspired to see where these tools will lead me.
YES, YAY and AMEN!
With Gratitude, I NOW say YES to SIMPLICITY and MINIMALISM.
Care to join me? 🙂
In honour of SIMPLICITY and MINIMALISM, I offer you some of my music; may it serve you well.
I Am Walking (a live version of a chant of mine from my CD “Little By Little” about focusing one’s attention on very simple things: breathing, sitting, walking, standing, and lying down.)
I Walk (a chant of mine about simply walking… and trusting.)
I Surrender (a chant of mine about simply surrendering… and trusting.)
(You can listen to my songs and chants here.)
(You can find the words to my songs and chants here.)
(You can buy my CDs here.)
I also offer you these entertaining youtube videos about minimalism by Matt D’Avella. May they also serve you well!
Along with meditation and journaling, here are tools that I use daily to help foster Simplicity and Minimalism:
1) Tapping / using EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) as I
2) Reclaim the power of I AM by affirming “I AM one with Source. I AM trusting, I AM grateful, and I AM excited! Right here and right now, I AM free to be ALL of me – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Thank you. I love you. And so it IS!”
How about YOU, dear Friend? What’s most resonating in YOU this month? WHEREVER you are on your journey, I’d love to hear from you. Please e-mail me; we’re all in this together, and we have much to learn from each other. (BIG THANKS to all of the kind souls who respond to my newsletters; reading your comments is always a highlight of my month.)
***Have you always wanted to walk the Camino? If so, I’d love to have you be a part of my experience of it, in whatever way most resonates with you: https://www.gofundme.com/be-a-part-of-nathen039s-journey-on-the-camino
If you’d be kind enough to help me spread the word about this in your faith communities and/or in your social circles, I’d greatly appreciate it. BIG thanks!***
