As I write these words and share this video, my province of British Columbia, Canada is dealing with heavy rainfall and serious flooding. My thoughts and prayers go out to all living beings affected, and to all of us everywhere as we deal with the deepening impacts of climate change; may we collectively come up with better solutions to that challenge.

I’m also thinking very much about the Chapman Stick community; Emmett Chapman, the inventor of the beautiful instrument that I play, made his transition on November 1st. My thoughts and prayers go out to Emmett and his family, and to all of the lovely souls who are a part of the Stick community around the world. In solidarity, I’m wearing one of my Stick t-shirts today. 🙂

The last couple of months have been an incredibly busy time for me, AND now, I’m enjoying moving more slowly and having a chance to “inhale”, ground myself, and “recalibrate”. In the last few days – after about 6 months – I’ve resumed my running practice. NOTHING helps to release tension, stress and worry like a good sweat!

That ties in very nicely with the theme that I’ve been exploring this month – RELEASE – an important part of my 2021 theme of SURRENDER. In November, my chants have been about the Power of Release, an affirmation about the Power of Release, releasing resistance, and about what becomes possible when we let go of what we are and what we have.

This month’s video features the chant about what becomes possible when we let go of what we are and what we have, and it’s called “Let Go, Walk On”. (It was inspired by quotes from Alan W. Watts and the Tao Te Ching.) The chant begins at 4:41 in this month’s video (above). May it serve you well!
